Perhaps you can already SUP surf and want to work on refining your top turns or maybe you’re just starting out and want to look at catching your first wave. The course will be designed around your aspirations. You might want to develop your personal and decision-making skills to enjoy your first wave riding experiences or maybe you want to look at the nuances of choosing the best wave of the set. Either way we can help you on your journey.

Experience level? +

To attend this course, you should:

  • Be comfortable in and on the water
  • Be able to swim or be happy to float
  • Have preferably  paddled a SUP before in a sheltered environment and maybe the surf (if not please drop us a line)

Age restrictions? +

The course is suitable for all ages above 16 years old. Any paddlers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Who is the course for? +

Anyone looking to build their confidence and skill set in the surf of our beautiful coastline.

This could be your first foray into the surf or maybe you are looking at working on your bottom turns and top turns.

You may be part of an organised SUP club, a group of friends, an adventurous family or you may be a solo paddler.

Qualifications gained? +

This is a skill development course but you could work towards the BCAB SUP Paddle Surf Personal performance award.

The SUP Paddle Surf Award has no formal assessment. Each day you spend paddling will further develop your skills and knowledge. This will create a more enjoyable experience on the water. You and your Coach will choose where you go next after each session. Working on the key areas that are important to you. Your award will be certificated when you are ready.

Where? +

You’ll meet at our base near Solva to get kitted up (exact location will be shared in your confirmation of booking) and we’ll head to a nearby harbour which we’ve chosen to best suit the conditions on the day.

Kit Provided +

  • The use of one of our fleet of high quality NRS Inflatable SUPs (if you prefer to use your own board and paddle that is fine). We also have several hard Surf SUP’s to have a play with.
  • Touring paddling jacket
  • Personnel PFD (floatation vest)
  • Paddle
  • Drybag
  • Full wetsuits if you don’t have your own.

What to Bring +

In your confirmation of booking, you’ll receive a full list of basic items to bring on the day e.g. bathers to wear under the wetsuit, a water bottle, a towel, old shoes or wetsuit boots etc. If we are out on the water all day please bring food and water for the day.
